Ranters Rest B&B
Ranter’s Rest is situated in the heart of the Brede Valley, 6 minutes to Rye & Winchelsea. The valley is an AONB & very beautiful at all times of the year.
Both our rooms have extensive views and the house is a haven of peace. We have a secluded garden for the use of our guests, & there are footpaths in all directions for walkers.
Summer has come with good intent this year.We have been blessed with weeks of hot weather & the valley is beautiful with the hay fields mown and conditions ideal for walking. The first blackberries are already ripe!
There are very many birds visiting our garden, not least because we are generous with food! It’s very peaceful to sit in our beautiful garden full of birdsong & flowers

Our garden & the valley
For birdwatchers we are very close to Rye Harbour nature reserve which attracts many migrant birds as well as the usual suspects. There are avocets & bitterns & a protected area for the little terns. Winchelsea beach is very near, very unspoilt & the sea is quite warm at the moment.
September brings the famous Rye Arts Festival. there are many events covering the best in chamber music, folk & blues, as well as literary & general interest talks. The festival runs from Sept 11th-26th & you can check out the programme on ryeartsfestival.co.uk
For garden lovers we are close to Great Dixter, Sissinghurst & several other wonderful gardens, & we are always ready to talk about plants!
If you are in need of rest & recuperation, this is the ideal place…Jeff offers both Shiatsu & Reflexology in his lovely treatment room. He trained for 2 years in Japan & has practised for 25years.
We both really enjoy meeting new people and do everything we can to make our guests feel both at home & on holiday!
